Track time and convert to invoice line items
Use the built-in timer to log billable hours, then bill them to a client invoice in one click.
Start the timer
Click Time in the sidebar, then the Timer tab. Enter a description and optionally select a client and hourly rate, then click ▶ Start Timer. The timer runs live and persists if you close the tab. It stops when you click ◼ Stop.
Add time manually
Click + Add manually on the Timer tab, enter a description and duration in minutes. Useful when you forgot to start the timer or are logging time retroactively.
Review in the Timesheets tab
Switch to the Timesheets tab to see your entries laid out by day, week, month, or year. Use ← → to navigate between periods and the Year | Month | Week | Day pill at the bottom to zoom. The stats strip shows total hours and unbilled value for the current period.
Select entries to bill
Click any completed (non-running) entry card to select it. A checkmark appears and the entry highlights. Click Select all unbilled in the stats strip to grab everything at once. You can select across multiple days.
Create or add to an invoice
Once you've selected entries, a billing bar appears at the bottom of the screen showing the total hours and value. Click + New Invoice to create a draft invoice with the selected entries as line items, or Add to [INV-XXX] → to append them to an existing draft.
Each entry becomes a line item: description, quantity in hours, and rate. PayWren marks the entries as billed so they won't appear in future selections.
